Join us for a virtual field trip where you will meet Ryan Cullen who is the Field Supervisor at the W. Galen Weston Centre for Food where he manages a team of students and a number of urban farm production systems at Durham College’s Whitby Campus. The farm is host to a ¾ market garden, ¼ acre apple orchard, a vertical hydroponic farm, greenhouse production facilities, a forest garden, an arboretum of trees and a number of perennial gardens. He works closely with the culinary and hospitality programs in the Centre for Food to supply the Centre with fresh, locally grown produce year round while also integrating production systems into curriculum.
