Painting is a simple, fun activity for students to engage with one of Manitoba's most important natural resources - our soil. Manitoba is home to over a dozen kinds of soils, unique in their colour and mixture of sand, silt and clay. Healthy soil is essential for crop production and is indispensible in capturing and storing carbon. 

Using the activity recipe, dig up some soil, or use food colouring, to create some masterpieces of art in your classroom.
